About
The Bureau of Prolefeed is a satirical news publication covering Indian politics, bureaucracy, elections, courts, and the occasional foreign government. The Bureau reads the real news and publishes corrected versions: the same stories, restated to say what they were already saying underneath the official language. Nothing is invented except the wording. The facts were absurd when we found them.
The Bureau has been in continuous operation since 1984. Records of anything prior to 1984 have been rectified.
Why "Prolefeed"?
In George Orwell's 1984, "prolefeed" is the meaningless content the state manufactures to keep people distracted and passive.
The Bureau runs that machinery in reverse. We take actual news and strip away the numbness, the bureaucratic phrasing, the buried ledes, the normalized absurdity, until what remains is what was actually said.
The name is a reminder of what we are pushing back against. The irony of a Bureau saying so has been noted, filed, and approved.
Departments of the Bureau
Rectifications. The Bureau's core function. Real headlines from Indian and global coverage, corrected for accuracy of tone. New rectifications are issued daily. Today's edition →
The Playbook. Some stories do not repeat themselves; they are reissued. The Playbook documents the recurring tactics of power as dossiers: a plain definition, a dated timeline of every occurrence, and a forecast of the next scheduled repetition. Consult the Playbook →
Leaked Documents. Internal Bureau memoranda that were never meant to be released, released. The redaction process remains under departmental review. View the leaks →
The Correction Desk. A public service. Paste any real news headline and the Bureau will correct it to say what it should have said. Visit the Correction Desk →
Mandatory Disclosures
The Bureau is required to state the following, and does so willingly:
Everything on this site is AI-generated satire, reviewed by a human editor before publication. Headlines, bylines, and quotes are fictional, created for commentary and humor. None of it is factual reporting.
Every article is based on real coverage from real news organizations, and the original sources are always linked at the bottom of the page. We encourage you to read them, and to support real journalism. The satire only works because the reporting is real.
