NEW DELHI — Following the swift arrest of a social media influencer for posting "objectionable" comments, local police reaffirmed their commitment on Tuesday to serving as the private reputation management wing for high-net-worth individuals embroiled in Rs 30,000 crore inheritance disputes.
"The public must understand that commenting on a prominent family's internal affairs is a severe threat to law and order," a police official said, explaining the necessity of using state resources to silence the online critic. "The right to publicly accuse this family of creating fraudulent trusts, concealing wealth, and foul play belongs exclusively to the late industrialist's own mother, who is already doing so in the Delhi High Court."
Authorities emphasized the extreme vulnerability of the heirs involved, noting the intense pressure of claiming control over a Rs 30,000 crore estate based on a 2025 will, whilst simultaneously facing internal family allegations that only Rs 1.7 crore in cash remains from a Rs 60 crore annual salary.
"It is simply our duty to step in and assist," the official added. "When an estate claimant is already forced to file a Rs 20 crore defamation suit against her own sister-in-law just to control the narrative, the least the police can do is handle the random influencers for free."
