SRINAGAR — Hailing the early success of their 100-day 'Nasha Mukt' campaign launched in April 2026, the central administration announced Tuesday that it has made significant progress in treating drug addiction in Jammu by demolishing 18 to 20 structures in the Kashmir Valley.
"By destroying the homes of suspects' parents in a completely different area, we are dismantling the financial infrastructure of the drug syndicates," said a police spokesperson, confirming that 10 houses had been flattened in just 10 days. "When a kingpin sees a bulldozer leveling a family property without a judicial process, they immediately rethink their global supply chain."
Local elected ministers, who do not control the Home Department or the police, have questioned why the heavy machinery keeps ending up in a specific geographic area. Despite data showing higher rates of drug addiction in Jammu, the administration's earth-moving equipment has remained exclusively focused on clearing properties in Kashmir.
"The modalities of our anti-drug operations are highly scientific," clarified a central official when asked about the disparity. "The severe addiction may be in Jammu, but unfortunately, the only load-bearing walls that cure it happen to be located in Kashmir."
