NEW DELHI — Executives at a premium motorcycle manufacturer unveiled the new F 450 GS adventure bike on Tuesday, celebrating the ₹5.5 lakh ex-showroom vehicle as a triumph of market accessibility and financial inclusivity.
"We realized there was a severe lack of options for entry-level riders who wish to spend over half a million rupees," said a company spokesperson during the launch event. "While the market is flooded with competitors like the KTM 390 Adventure at ₹3.67 lakh, our definition of accessibility ensures customers still feel they are paying a premium."
The launch marks a strategic repositioning for the brand, which discontinued its previous entry-level model, the single-cylinder G 310 GS, in 2023 due to lower sales. Officials confirmed that replacing a failed entry-level model with a substantially more expensive twin-cylinder successor is a standard industry method for capturing riders seeking a budget-friendly introduction to the segment.
The company expects the higher price point to seamlessly attract riders transitioning into the booming Indian middleweight adventure market.
"True accessibility is about providing a gateway into our lineup," the spokesperson added. "And we are proud to offer that gateway at a price point that keeps actual entry-level riders out."
