NEW DELHI — Following opposition warnings of an impending "economic storm," the Finance Ministry issued a swift clarification Tuesday affirming that any current financial distress is the direct result of the previous administration's policies from earlier this century.

"It is highly obstructionist to bring up current wealth concentration when we are in the middle of a crucial election cycle," a ministry spokesperson said, referencing the government's transition from the 2013 "fragile five" era to the current era of upgraded economic narratives. "The opposition is deliberately trying to distract the public from our decade-long track record of blaming them for everything."

When asked about claims that farmers, labourers, and youth bear the brunt of recent policies while corporate groups like Adani and Ambani benefit, the ministry pointed to its successful deployment of JanDhan and MUDRA schemes. "We have repeatedly stated that every section of society has been served since 2014," the official explained. "The common person received an empty bank account, and a grand economic structure was built for the billionaires. The 'milega vs mil gaya' delivery system is functioning exactly as intended."

At press time, the ruling party was preparing to officially upgrade the opposition's status from "obstructionists" to "retroactively responsible for whatever happens next."
