THIRUVANANTHAPURAM — Following the United Democratic Front's 102-seat election victory, leadership confirmed Tuesday that a rigorous, statewide search for the most capable administrators has naturally concluded inside the new Chief Minister's home district of Ernakulam.

The new cabinet will feature the Chief Minister alongside three local ministers, reflecting what party officials described as the district's sudden, overwhelming monopoly on governance skills. The geographic concentration of talent marks a historic shift for Ernakulam, which managed to produce exactly zero Congress ministers during the entire 2016-2021 UDF government.

"Our cabinet selections are based entirely on merit, capability, and the precise mathematical balancing of Latin Catholic and Muslim community equations," a party spokesperson said. When asked why a candidate's electoral performance was reportedly secondary to their factional ties, the spokesperson clarified that true merit is defined by whether an appointment successfully neutralizes a rival internal faction.

To ensure what the party called "equitable representation for the entire state," officials confirmed that a remaining cabinet berth is being awarded to the sole elected MLA of a regional allied party, guaranteeing robust democratic representation for all political factions operating within a short drive of the Chief Minister's residence.
