VISAKHAPATNAM — Andhra University officials confirmed Tuesday that the most effective way to honor a century of higher education is to watch 1,150 international students from 57 different countries prepare their own dinner in public while wearing traditional costumes.

The 'Feast Fest – Global Flavors, One University' event, held at the Beach Road Convention Centre, allowed the administration to mark its 100th anniversary without the burden of discussing research output, faculty vacancies, or the state of the campus hostels. Instead, Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.P. Rajasekhar praised the 'melting pot' of cultures, noting that the university’s prestige is best reflected in the quality of the appetizers served by the International Student Affairs department.

"By having students from Africa, Asia, and Europe prepare authentic delicacies at their own expense of time and effort, we are reaffirming our role as a global hub of learning," said an official from the Archives Section, who was seen sampling a third plate of Middle Eastern specialty. "Nothing says 'academic rigor' quite like a well-executed cultural parade on the Engineering College Grounds."

Records show that the university has launched the same centenary celebrations at least four times in the last six months, utilizing a series of posters, teasers, and 'Mega' announcements to ensure that the 1926 foundation date remains at the forefront of the public’s mind until the next budget cycle.

When asked if the 'Mega Cultural Fest-2026' scheduled for April would include any seminars on the next century of scientific innovation, a spokesperson for the Ministry Correspondent confirmed that the schedule was already full. "The modalities for the folk dance competition and the international costume ramp walk are very complex. We simply do not have the bandwidth to discuss pedagogy when there are 57 different national anthems to synchronize for the closing ceremony."

At press time, the university committee for the 2026 Foundation Day was reportedly considering a fifth poster launch to celebrate the successful launch of the fourth poster launch.
